The principal aim of FREYLIT Wash Water Recycling systems is to provide a highly efficient and safe means for the recycling waste water from vehicle washing operations, which reduces the impact on the environment by saving fresh water consumption and waste water discharge from such operations to a minimum.
All car wash waste-water recycling systems have basically the same purpose: Remove solids from the wash water (to avoid damage to car surface and clogging up of valves and nozzles of the car wash) and kill bacteria (to avoid bad smell and hazards from illness for customers and operators from bacteria).
FREYLIT’s EKOLIT system is in both functions the most efficient and economical alternative and state of the art technology for WASH WATER RECYCLING SYSTEMS for vehicle washing applications.

HIGHEST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY: The FREYLIT system offers TOTAL RECLAIM with a recycling rate of over 95%. The loss of fresh water is minimized and consequently the amount of overflow waste water to public sewers is also reduced to less than 5%. The FREYLIT system offers a near CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM, where only water lost to evaporation, vehicle carry out and silt removal needs to be replenished.

CHEMICAL-FREE SYSTEM : The FREYLIT recycling system does not use any chemicals in any of the treatment process, nor does it require any filter cartridges or similar replaceable parts.

Maintenance is a simple and mainly consists of cleaning the machine and requires no special tools or replacement materials. Moreover, the maintenance intervals are very long compared to conventional systems.
CIVIL CONSTRUCTION Considerations : The underground tanks best used are reinforced concrete tanks which offer an extremely long lifetime, structural strength and therefore reduced civil construction cost since no anchoring or back-filling is needed as is the case with FRP or other underground tanks. Alternatively, particularly for existing car wash facilities where the installation of underground tanks is not feasible, an above ground combined silt chamber/ storage tank is a viable solution, in which FREYLIT is experienced.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION :
1st Stage - SILT SETTLEMENT :
Heavy and large solids settle in a SILT CHAMBMER (rec. volume 2200 litres). These underground tanks are made of reinforced water proof concrete, or locally constructed concrete pits or other type of tanks, tested and certified for this purpose, equipped with sealed manhole access lids to enable maintenance access.
2nd Stage - Waste Water STORAGE TANK with AERATION :
Waste water from the silt chamber overflows into to storage tank (rec. volume 2200 litres). The Storage Tank is equipped with a micro-bubble aeration membrane connected to the air compressor included in the unit. Inside this tank the submersible sludge pump is installed inside a stainless steel pump protector, protected by a dry-run float switch. The stainless steel pump protector screens out large sold wastes (>3mm) such as paper and preventing it from entering the system. A service pipe connects the plant room to the storage tank and hosts all necessary connections of compressed air, electric wires, vent, etc.
N.B. STAGE 1 & STAGE 2 can be COMBINED into ONE TANK only provided the size/volume is adequate.
ALTERNATIVELY an ABOVE GROUND combined Silt Chamber and storage tank can be supplied for existing sites and other cases where no underground tanks can be installed.
3rd Stage : Pre-STAGE TREATMENT for solids removal :
Removal of medium sized heavy dirt particles (silt and sand) by means of a Hydro Cyclone. Following a vortex type principle the Hydro-Cyclone removes medium sized dirt particles (silt & sand).
4th Stage : DE-GERMING by High Voltage Electrode :
A 40,000V High Voltage Electrode (HVE) kills bacteria, micro-organism and algae by electricity yet due to the low current (Amps) is totally safe for humans.
5th Stage: Medium-STAGE TREATMENT for Fine Light Solids & Oils Removal :
Micro-Bubbles of the Air Floatation System inside the reactor tank will bring light suspended solids and oils, as well as dead organic organisms, to the surface of the reactor tank from where they are drained away periodically by automated evacuation process back to the sit chamber.
6th Stage : FINAL Polishing by MICRO-FINE FILTRATION :
Micro FREYLIT Micro-Fine-Filters remove even the finest solids from the recycled water. The FREYLIT filters are equipped with a stainless steel mesh of 20micron or 50 micron according to customer request. Given proper maintenance, NO REPLACEMENT of the filter components during the useful lifetime of the equipment is necessary.
7th Stage : AUTOMATIC REGENERATION of FILTER :
The Micro-Filters of the FREYLIT recycling system have a fully micro processor controlled mechanism for AUTOMATIC BACK-FLUSHNIG. The back flushing process is done not only by utilizing recycled water, but with the addition of compressed air to ensure effective complete evacuation. The effluent of this process is drained back to the silt chamber.
RECYCLED WATER DELIVERY to WASH BAY is pressurised be means of a multi-stage BOOSTER PUMP, which is automatically controlled including dry run protection.

Description and ADVANTAGES of CHVTP recycling systems
The CHVTP series is a most economical and efficient alternative to the EKOLIT system described above. It is a downscaled unit essentially incorporating Stage 1 to Stage 5 of the process described above, that is, it does not have the final stages of micro-filtration and regeneration. The unit nevertheless is capable of removing dirt particles down to 100μ by employing treatment by hydro-cyclone and floatation and removal of fine light particles in the reactor tank.

OIL/WATER SEPARATORS are designed to remove oils and other hydro-carbons from the run-off water coming from surfaces of Petrol Station forecourts, Garages, Parking Houses, Car Repair Shops, and all other businesses where surface rain or wash water mixed with spilled oils and hydrocarbons may drain into the sewer causing significant environmental damage and health risks. The oil separator featured here is a standard model used for petrol station forecourts.
